RUKELI, the animated short film directed by Alessandro Rak, has been officially selected for the Campania Film Festival 2026, taking place from September 15 to 19 across Naples, Avellino, Benevento and Montesarchio.
The film will be screened on Thursday, September 17, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM, at Giustino Fortunato University in Benevento, as part of one of the festival’s central days.
The new edition of the Campania Film Festival will bring together leading figures from the national and international film and cultural scene, including Ornella Muti and Willem Dafoe, with a jury chaired by Enzo Decaro.
Through the language of animation, RUKELI brings to the screen the story of Johann “Rukeli” Trollmann, a Sinti boxer persecuted by the Nazi regime, transforming his life into a story of identity, discrimination, memory and resistance.
The selection at the Campania Film Festival marks a new stage in the short film’s journey and another opportunity to meet audiences and share a story that continues to question the present through the memory of the past.
We are very happy that RUKELI continues its journey in Campania, and we look forward to seeing you on September 17 in Benevento.
