We are delighted to announce that SHE, directed by Parsifal Reparato, has been officially selected for the Adelaide Film Festival and will celebrate its Australian premiere.
The film tells the collective story of Vietnamese women working in one of the world’s largest electronic component factories. Women make up 80% of the 80,000-strong workforce, chosen because they “work harder and complain less.” They endure twelve-hour shifts under harsh electric light and constant surveillance, with their families reduced to video calls.
As highlighted in the festival presentation: “Any decent person has to be interested in the conditions under which the smartphone in their pocket is produced. SHE questions the very structure of the global economy.”
