The animated short film RUKELI, directed by Alessandro Rak, has been selected to take part in the 42nd edition of Cartoon Club – Festival Internazionale di Animazione, Fumetti e Giochi, held in Rimini from 12 to 19 July 2026.

One of Italy’s leading events dedicated to animation and comics, Cartoon Club has devoted one of its 2026 exhibitions to the theme of “Resistance”, explored through its many different forms: from civil and political engagement to the everyday and creative practices of those who choose to oppose oppression, endure and continue imagining new possibilities.

Within this context, RUKELI is featured in the festival’s exhibition programme, contributing through the language of animation to a broader collective reflection on resistance. The short film becomes part of a wider dialogue on memory, identity and the role of images and visual storytelling in preserving stories that continue to resonate in the present.

The exhibition will remain open in Rimini until 30 August 2026.

RUKELI’s inclusion in the Cartoon Club exhibition represents another important stage in the project’s journey, confirming the continued interest the film is generating within the field of auteur animation.
