Rukeli, a film by Alessandro Rak, will be presented in competition at Behind Festival in Gravina in Puglia on April 10th and 11th.The film emerged from a workshop conceived by Chi rom e chi no, which brought together Roma and non-Roma youth to explore the extraordinary story of Johann Trollmann, the Roma boxer who defied Nazism and its violence until the very end.
Bringing RUKELI to a festival that also looks at cinema from behind the scenes seems particularly meaningful to us, because this film carries with it not only a story to tell, but also a shared, human, and creative journey from which that story took shape.
