Taxidrivers Magazine Interviews Parsifal Reparato on SHE
“Parsifal Reparato tells the story of his women workers against the tech giant. The director of SHE reveals how a long anthropological research journey evolved into a documentary of resistance.”
The film is the result of a long anthropological investigation, a qualitative field research carried out among women workers in a massive electronics industry complex in Vietnam.
The collected video material embraces political and civic resistance and stands against multinational corporations that ignore the human cost of progress.
Parsifal Reparato explains how he built relationships of trust with the workers, in a context where speaking about one’s job was “terrifying”.
Out of hundreds of interviews, “maybe ten, eight” women agreed to share their stories in depth, and the film was born from their voices.
Thanks to Rita Andreetti for this intense interview.
