SHE in Competition at Festival dei Popoli: Screening at Cinema Astra in Florence
Today at 6:30 pm, SHE will screen in competition in the Italian section of Festival dei Popoli at Cinema Astra, Piazza Cesare Beccaria 9, Florence.
SHE tells the stories of women workers in Vietnam through voices of collective strength and resistance. Presented at Festival dei Popoli and internationally awarded, the film by Parsifal Reparato explores the conditions of young workers in Vietnam’s electronics factories, between daily sacrifices and hopes for a better future.
Shot in the heart of one of Vietnam’s largest industrial suburbs, SHE gives voice to a generation of women who work every day on electronics assembly lines, silently contributing to global technological prosperity. The protagonists are often young women from rural villages, forced into alienating rhythms, speaking about daily exhaustion, the loneliness of dormitories, and dreams suspended in the hope of a better life.
With an anthropological perspective, Parsifal Reparato restores dignity to faces and gestures that the industrial world tends to erase. SHE is not only about work, but also about identity, belonging, and resistance: a journey through invisible assembly lines and hidden desires behind the apparent uniformity of factory uniforms.
