Gazzetta di Reggio on SHE by Parsifal Reparato
Gazzetta di Reggio features an in-depth article on SHE, the documentary film directed by Parsifal Reparato.
Reparato, an anthropologist who has been studying the Vietnamese working environment for twelve years, was supported in the writing process by Michela Cerimele and Emma Ferulano. As the director explains, media are usually not allowed to enter industrial parks, as these areas are controlled by multinational corporations.
According to Reparato, the situation in Vietnam represents a form of exploitation that has become extremely sophisticated. What has been created is what he defines as the perfect target: young people, migrants, and above all women, considered the weakest link in the chain and often constrained by family expectations that make their employment temporary.
This model, the director states, is the one the entire world is now aiming for and represents the industry 4.0 often discussed today.
