Final Australian Screening for SHE and Nimble Fingers in Adelaide
Countdown to our last screening in Australia. After a wonderful premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival, SHE women workers from Vietnam + Nimble Fingers by Parsifal Reparato is getting ready for its final screening in Adelaide.
Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Palace Nova Eastend Eximax.
The review highlights how the film unpacks the gendered labour behind our global supply chain, making visible the often invisible work of the women whose hands power our modern world.
Combining observation, interviews and stylised re-creations, Italian filmmaker and anthropologist Parsifal Reparato brings us into the lives of Vietnamese factory workers in Bac Ninh province, offering intimate glimpses of their routines, families and dreams, and delivering a powerful and humanising critique of how patriarchal and economic systems intertwine.
The women in SHE carry the weight of labour, sacrifice and resilience. Men benefit from a system that privileges them, while the women endure its burden with quiet strength. Yet, amid hardship, we also meet courage, embodied by the pink-haired hairdresser who has left the factory to start anew, declaring that with courage, anything can be done.
Hauntingly intimate yet deeply political, SHE exposes how global supply chains are built on erased female identities, reminding us of the human cost of our interconnected world.
