SHE in PARIS- Festival International Jean Rouch
SHE by Parsifal Reparato at Festival international Jean Rouch – Comité du film ethnographique.
SHE, the documentary film directed by Parsifal Reparato, will be presented at the Festival International Jean Rouch, Comité du film ethnographique 2026, one of the leading international contexts dedicated to ethnographic cinema.
The film has been selected for the official section “Filmer en territoire hostile”, dedicated to works that question not only the themes they address, but also the concrete conditions in which cinema is made: complex territories, difficult access, resistance, limits and tensions.
The screening will take place in Paris, at the Musée du quai Branly, Jacques Chirac, on May 12, 2026, at 4:45 PM.
SHE stems from a long process of ethnographic research on women’s labour in the electronics industry in Vietnam and on the global transformations of contemporary production. The film moves through a sensitive territory, often removed or made invisible, where working conditions, health, time and the bodies of women workers become the centre of a political and cinematic reflection.
The selection at the Festival International Jean Rouch, Comité du film ethnographique, therefore carries particular significance. The festival has long represented a space for dialogue between cinema, anthropology, research and fieldwork. It is a context in which SHE finds a natural place, confirming the deep relationship between documentary practice, ethnographic inquiry and a critical observation of the present.
