RUKELI, the short film directed by Alessandro Rak and produced by AntropicA, Sideways Studios and Film i Väst, will be screened at the Giffoni Film Festival, one of the most important film events dedicated to younger generations.

The screening will take place on Friday, 24 July 2026 at 4:00 p.m., as part of the Parental Experience program, a festival section designed to involve parents, families and accompanying adults in screenings and discussions on the themes explored by the selected films.

RUKELI’s participation in the festival will conclude on the evening of Saturday, 25 July, with the awards ceremony.

The film tells the story of Johann “Rukeli” Trollmann, a Sinti boxer who was persecuted by the Nazi regime. Through the language of animation, the film reconstructs a story of talent, dignity and resistance, bringing to light a figure who was long forgotten and reflecting on the consequences of discrimination and political violence.

The selection at the Giffoni Film Festival marks another important stage in RUKELI’s journey, as the film continues to reach audiences through festivals and film events in Italy and abroad. Following its previous screenings and awards, the film now arrives in a particularly meaningful context, one that encourages dialogue between cinema, younger viewers and their families.
