Yesterday Rukeli officially arrived in Italian cinemas with two special events we will remember for a long time: the premiere in Naples at CasaCinema Napoli with director Alessandro Rak, and the screening in Rome at the Multisala Lux with producer Parsifal Reparato. Both events were part of the Corto che Passione initiative.
The film was born in Scampia from the collaboration between Roma youth and students of the Galileo Ferraris Institute, guided by the association Chi rom e chi no. It grew into a powerful collective work that intertwines memory, art, and resistance.
After the emotional red carpet at the Venice Film Festival, Rukeli has now reached audiences in 100 cinemas across Italy, telling the story of Sinti boxer Johann Wilhelm Trollmann, who defied Nazism and became a symbol of dignity and freedom.
Produced by AntropicA, Rukeli proves that memory does not belong to the past alone: it continues to live, to move, and to unite us.
