RUKELI, the animated short film directed by Alessandro Rak, has been selected for the 12th edition of Animaphix – Nuovi Linguaggi Contemporanei Film Festival, taking place in Bagheria, in the province of Palermo, from August 3 to 9, 2026.

The film will be presented in the National Competition – Giannalberto Bendazzi Award, dedicated to Italian works in the National section. The award, presented by an international jury, recognises the best Italian film selected for the competition.

The screening of RUKELI at Animaphix 2026 will take place on Wednesday, August 5 at 10:30 PM, in the evocative setting of the Arena Guttuso at Villa Cattolica in Bagheria.

The 12th edition of Animaphix brings together works from numerous countries and features four competitive sections dedicated to different forms of contemporary animation: Animated Painting, AniDOC, National and Experimental.

The Giannalberto Bendazzi Award, for which RUKELI is competing, will be presented to the best Italian film in the National section. The competing works will be screened across several programs from August 5 to 8 at the Arena Guttuso at Villa Cattolica.
